United States president, Donald Trump, says he knows about many things more than most people.
When it comes to shifting positions, you can't really argue this claim with him.
First, he commended the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, for managing the covid-19 outbreak well, and then blamed China for infecting the world. From saying the virus was a hoax, he later asserted that he knew way before many that it was going to be a pandemic. As to the number of Americans that could die from the virus, he's leapt from 60,000 to double that figure. Asked a few days after he wondered aloud about the possibility of injecting or ingesting disinfectants as treatment for covid-19, he said he was being sarcastic.
Let's not forget that he also said of the virus: “One day it's like a miracle, it will disappear.”
Considering Trump's legendary staying power on his claims, this might be little consolation to two White House staff who recently tested positive for the virus.
